TRADICIJA VITEŠKIH IGARA - KORČULA

From June to October there are regular performances by Knight Societies on the island and in the town of Korčula. The tradition of the sword and war dances on the island are four centuries old. Some of the war dances symbolise the defence of the island from invaders, while the Moreška dance symbolises the battle between good and evil through seven dynamic sword dances; the battle between the white and dark kings for a beautiful girl, the bride of the white king.

LJETO NA STROSSU - ZAGREB

In one of the most romantic parts of Zagreb’s Upper town (Gornji grad) – the Strossmayer promenade – an event with free daily ethno, jazz, soul, rock and other concerts is held. A fine arts colony and other interesting sights are also on offer to visitors. As part of Summer at the Stross, some bigger traditional events are also organised, such as a countdown to the half-year with celebration fireworks, a beauty pageant for mixed-breed dogs and a fashion show by students from Zagreb’s schools for textile and design.
